Sweet dreams are made of these.....

the last night of our trip ,we met up with some friends : asian doctors working in Queensland. They were all from Lorraine's medical faculty at Melbourne University.
This is Philip... an aussie born Hongkee living the LIFE as a flying doctor! i thought that was super cool.
He's now doing his final year fellowship in Anaesthesia at Gold Coast Hospital!

Lorraine n I at South Bank.

the doctors making it BIG in Queensland !
L to R : my sis Lorraine, Cindy (specialist in Anaesthesia), Jack ( specialist in Anaesthesia), Philip (flying doctor) and Smarthi (specialist in Micropathology).
Combined, they certainly have zillions of brain cells!!!!
can i have some??!!

There's a saying, " Aim for the moon...Even if you miss, you will still land among the stars."

I am pleased to say i got the job i wanted!
the interview lasted 4 hrs, 10am to 2pm!

The passage to my job search was not as rosy as it seemed.
Because Dentistry is a skilled profession, i was not allowed to hire an immigration agent like most people.
first off, i had to gather so many documents required to apply to the ADC ( Australian Dental Council). then more documents to register with the state i want to practise in.alot of uncertainty , worries n stress i can tell you.

the past 6 months , I had to do alot of research, asking many questions, backstepping on many occasions because I wanted better choices.
In fact, Queensland n Perth were bottom of my list!
Initially , i placed NSW n Melbourne as 1st choices.
Perth i didn't want to go there because I went to school there and it's isolated from the rest of Australia.
Queensland put me off because all my aussie friends kept scaring me about the outback n remote places i would be posted.
(it's common for foreign dentists to have to work further away from the cities because the local graduates are given preferences in cities.)

As i was preparing paperworks n interviews in NSW n Melbourne, the eagles must be looking out for me...i couldn't believe my luck when i was offered job interviews at Sunshine coast.

The lesson i have learnt are:
It pays to backstep on plans sometimes,
it pays to be open minded,
ir pays to be flexible,
it pays to be patient.
And it pays to listen to your own heart.

thanks to Lorraine who travelled with me on this trip :)

Hi Fiona

Congrats on your successful interview and new job. Where is it? When will you be moving here? I'm going up to Noosa in July this year - if you have already moved here, it would be great to meet up!
